Here’s an illustration: You learn about web technologies like design, content management systems, social media. At the same time, you also study some of those subjects deeper. It makes you understand and sometime you can make a small prediction about what will happen next if you use certain strategies (in one of those technologies). You help [...]
Let’s make this post short. When I worked on my blog in Bahasa Indonesia, I decided to use a simple theme. I don’t want to use too many images. Then, I created a theme. A simple theme. I realized that I haven’t created any single free theme this year — or may be last year. Now, [...]
When I have someone who wanted to ask our service and it’s related to web design (blog, sites, etc), we don’t just start the work right away. I usually spend my times and steal client’s time to have some discussion about the project. Usually, I ask few things: What kind of website you want to have, [...]
Last month, I bought a new domain. Unlike my other domains, this time I have domain with my own name: thomasarie.com. When I firstly registered it, I didn’t have any intention to create another blog. I already have too many. My plan was to create a lifestream. The term lifestream was coined by Eric Freeman and [...]
Finally, we’ve just finished uploading hundreds of photos from Jogja Wall Nation event. This is related to my previous post, about our involvement in this event. We’re responsible for the event publishing strategy and management. It’s not only preparing the website for the event, managing all contents and writing updates — yes, we published tons [...]
I like WordPress and its templating system so far. For many WordPress users, WordPress’ widgets features in theme might be something useful. Especially, for those who do not want to deal with template tags or confusing lines of codes. Personally, when I create WordPress themes for my own sites, I rarely — almost never — [...]
Right now, we're working on a gallery album site. Our client wants to have a photo gallery for her site. There are many great gallery scripts like Gallery Menalto, 4Images, and Coopermine. Every software has its own great features. After having discussion with our client, we decided not to use one of those options. We choose WordPress.
Website that has membership feature will have (should!) have this feature. In most cases, the mechanisms are almost the same.
Previously, I talked a little bit about i-teve. Now, allow me to share a little bit more about some technical stuff. I already mentioned that we decided to use WordPress. The first reason was that because everything -- in this case, i-teve -- can be accomodated by WordPress.
Congratulation for the newly launch video-based site: i-teve! No, I'm not talking about new video sharing provider -- in Indonesia. i-teve is an Indonesia-based site crafted by Budi Putra and Elprisdat M. Zen. My involvement is to provide support for technical aspects. One of them is building the site.
Meet Sheeba Majmudar's website -- she is a nutritionist from Singapore.
Today, our friend at Fashionese Daily posted a news about MAC in Mode event. Hey, it's not that Mac, it's about MAC Cosmetics. We worked together with Fashionese Daily to create the microsite.
I am working on a new WordPress Theme right now. It's The Shamrock and the Bird. When I started making this theme, it was based on WordPress 2.6. But, because WordPress 2.7 is already available, I decided to make some changes. Here is a screenshot.
After being with Movable Type for the last three -- or longer, I think -- I decided to move to other platform. Now, my blog (not this blog!) is powered by WordPress. That's our first news. :)
Last month, there is a new mass transportation model launched in Yogyakarta. It's Trans Jogja. Right now, we will not go further writing about how this i-think-good-solution works. We would like to share about how we built the website. :)
A-not-easy-to-answer question. Seriuosly. But, if we have to answer that question, there are two blogging platforms come to our mind: WordPress and Movable Type. Not only because those are our favorite platforms, but also those are platforms we're familiar with.
Few days ago, I applied a new design for Orangescale Studio website. So, if you read our Juicy Blog from RSS readers, I would like to invite you to see our new design. So, what's new here?
Yesterday, I just made some changes on My City Blogging, one of Asia Blogging Network's channels. And, this is one of the busiest channel in the network.
Yesterday, I updated Kasanova Interior website, one of our client's.
