Congratulation for the newly launch video-based site: i-teve! No, I’m not talking about new video sharing provider — in Indonesia. i-teve is an Indonesia-based site crafted by Budi Putra and Elprisdat M. Zen. My involvement is to provide support for technical aspects. One of them is building the site.
If you want to know about i-teve (in English), Budi Putra has the report. For mode details in Bahasa Indonesia, i-teve has a page explaining the site.
I’ve been working together with Budi Putra in some website-related projects. Last time I met him was when he visited Jogjakarta. We had a discussion about few things, and I knew more details about i-teve at that time. Few weeks after that, Mr. Elprisdat also visited Jogjakarta, and I was lucky since I had a chance to met him, and have brief discussion about i-teve.
For the content management, we decided to use WordPress as the publishing platform, and blip.tv as the video hosting provider. Why WordPress? It’s simple: because I know that WordPress can do it. That’s it. blip.tv came as the final option (for now) rather than YouTube. I know, YouTube is the most popular video sharing service right now, but there are some other things to consider beside popularity, right?
Again, congratulation i-teve!
